** Accepting new clients **

Riley Paskowski is currently enrolled in the Master's of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Riley is working towards registration as a Provisional Psychologist in Alberta. As a student counsellor, Riley is dedicated to supporting individuals while also growing her skill set. In her work with clients, Riley recognizes and adapts to the needs of clients using interventions from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness. Riley believes in a person-centered approach with emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. She also brings a background in supporting adults with multiple diagnoses. As a student counsellor, Riley practices under the supervision of Dr. Kendell Banack, Registered Psychologist.

I admire those who are taking the leap into their counselling journey. It takes courage to start something new, and to start a healing journey. I believe that the relationship is at the forefront of the therapeutic process. I strive to develop a sturdy foundational relationship to provide a safe space for clients to share their struggles and their needs. With the support and supervision of Dr. Banack, I aim to provide a counselling experience that supports reflection, processing, and growth.

Alongside my passion for mental health and counselling, I bring knowledge of supporting individuals with dual-diagnoses using a person-centered, holistic care model. I use a strengths-based approach and also communicate with other agencies to best support clients’ needs.

Outside of the office, I enjoy playing team sports including hockey and rugby, coaching with the Special Olympics, and taking my dog out for lots of walks.
